APPOINTMENT CHANGES

As of 1st June 2009, we have made some changes that will help access to the team at the practice.  These changes have been as a result from the recent National GP Survey.  You identified that you were not aware you could book appointments more than 48 hours in advance. Whilst we appreciate patients have been used to a "same day" appointment system, it was felt this did not provide patients with satisfactory pre-bookable appointments.  Please see below for further information.

APPOINTMENTS ONLINE (access online anytime)
 
v              YOU CAN PRE-BOOK GP APPOINTMENTS IN
ADVANCEeg. IN A FEW DAYS, NEXT WEEK, THE WEEK AFTER NEXT OR EVEN UPTO 8 WEEKS
 
v              YOU CAN BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN 48 HOURS
 
v               YOU CAN BOOK AN “URGENT” APPOINTMENT ON THE
SAME DAY.
 
v               IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, YOU WILL BE
TRIAGED BY A MEMBER OF THE TRAIGE TEAM.
 
v            OUR TELEPHONE SYSTEM WILL NOW GIVE YOU OPTIONS
TO PRESS TO SPEAK TO THE MOST APPROPRIATE
MEMBER OF THE TEAM.
 
·       Did you know that you may not have to see a GP: The admin team will be able to help direct you.
·       You may be able to save time by asking for telephone advice from a GP to save you leaving home/work
·       You may be able to see another health professional from the practice---DO YOU NEED TO SEE A GP?
·       You can order your prescriptions ONLINE or from the admin team.
